Day 1 – Halifax to Lisbon

 

Depart Halifax for Lisbon (via Montreal ) Departure approximately 5pm subject to airline confirmation.

Day 2– Lisbon to Porto   (B, D) 

• 10.00am (approximate )- Arrival at Lisbon  airport and customs check
• Depart Lisbon and drive north towards Porto.
• After a stop midway for lunch we will arrive at your city center Porto Hotel at around 230pm for check-in .
• 6:00 PM - Meet in hotel lobby for our welcome to Portugal reception and opening dinner

Day 3- Porto-Santiago do Compostela Porto - (B, L) 

• Included hotel breakfast
• Travel through northern Portugal and arrive at Santiago Do Compostela One of the most important pilgrimage destinations in the world, Santiago is best known for the Camino de Santiago (St. James Way) pilgrim trail following the cult of St. James. Upon arrival, you will visit the magnificent 11th-centuty cathedral, dedicated to the apostle.
• In the afternoon, drive back to Porto, stopping at Valença do Minho, an historical village in the north of Portugal,

 

Day 4–Porto-–Port Wine  Free time to explore the city (B) 

• Included hotel breakfast
• Depart on city tour of the Porto metropolitan region.
• Enjoy a special tour of a Port wine cellar which goes back centuries.
• The afternoon and evening is free for personal exploration.,

Day 5 – Porto- Douro Valley Tour including river cruise, wine tasting and lunch (B, L) 

• Included hotel breakfast
• Travel through the Douro Valley where you will be mesmerized by the views. The valleys are like an Amphitheatre to the river
• Cruise the river giving  you  even more dramatic views of nature at its best
• Stop for lunch and some wine tasting before we travel back to our Porto hotel.

Day 6 – Porto –Fatima –Evora –. (B, D) 

• Included hotel breakfast
• Depart Porto and travel south to Fatima.
• Explore the Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Rosary in Fatima Visit the sanctuary’s basilica.
• We move on to Evora . This small city is full of charm and will be our home for two nights .Evora is one of Europe’s oldest inhabited cities and aUNESCO Heritage site .
• Overnight and dinner.

Day 8 – Evora –Monsaraz   (B) 

• Included hotel breakfast.
• In the morning we  will stroll to the city center and vest the famous cathedral as well as the Renaissance Church of St. Francis to see the Chapel of Bones, There are interesting shops on the side streets just of the main square.
• Set out to explore the surrounding regions including a stop in Monsaraz, one of the oldest settlements in Portugal with stunning hilltop views.
• You will also learn about the production of cork which this region is famous for.

Day 9 –Evora -Sintra –Cascais -Lisbon (B, L) 

• Included hotel breakfast
• Arriving in Lisbon around midday we will have lunch upon arrival
• Following lunch we will have a panoramic tour of Sintra and Lisbon.
• Check in hotel and evening free

Day 10 –Lisbon free day (B, D)

• A completely free day to explore this cosmopolitan city from your city center hotel.
• Closing dinner with all the group on our last night in Portugal.

 

Day 11 – Lisbon –Montreal –Halifax (B)

• Early morning transfer to Lisbon  Airport where we take our Air Canada flight to Montreal and then Halifax.

April 17, 2023  - $1,250.00 per person is due.

July 17,2023  Remaining balance is due

 

Payment can be made by etransfer, cheque or credit card.

If paying by credit card there is a 3% surcharge to offset the credit card charge to Sandy Travel
